Taylor and Brandon’s engagement photos in West Virginia were taken on a chilly fall day. We met at Taylor’s dad’s property in Moundsville, West Virginia.
These two went to separate high schools in the same area and met through mutual friends. A few days before Christmas, Brandon took Taylor to the Cheesecake Factory and ice skating in Pittsburgh and proposed.
On this crisp fall day, the leaves on the trees had turned to gorgeous colors of yellow, orange, and red and were sparsely hanging on the trees and beginning to cover the ground. As a West Virginia Wedding Photographer, I loved all the colors in this brilliant location. The golden field is one of my favorite locations to capture pictures as I love creating a foreground as it makes the images look dreamy.
I loved that Taylor and Brandon wore two outfits, one dressy and one casual. Taylor looked adorable in her striking dress and paired it with boots to match the vibe of Brandon’s look. They also wore more casual outfits perfectly fitting for the fall season. Taylor chose to wear a patterned blanket scarf with a coordinating shirt, and Brandon changed into a matching colored shirt, and both paired with jeans. This more casual look was the perfect way to cozy up their engagement session. Taylor also had her hair and make-up professionally done for their pictures, which is always a fun time to splurge and pamper yourself.
As a West Virginia wedding photographer, there are many ways of how my clients will find me, and it’s always fun to hear how they did. In this particular instance, this was a client referral. Taylor attended the same dental hygiene school (West Liberty University) as I did, so naturally, we had a lot in common to talk about. One of our phone calls was two hours long, just talking about their wedding and teeth. I love how my couples come to me as strangers, and after their engagement and wedding, they become friends.
