Marie and Ty’s Highgate Carriage House wedding was a memorable August day with beautiful weather.

As one of the Fairmont WV wedding venues, Highgate Carriage House served as the perfect spot for their special day. The location was a central point for both Marie & Ty’s families.

Marie and Ty are a super sweet couple with an adorable relationship that began in high school. Ty is so gentle with Marie that it tugs at your heartstrings. Marie loves the color purple, so she chose to use it as a focal point for their big day. She added purple to every nook and cranny she possibly could, making for a bright, whimsical ambiance.

Dated back to 1908, Highgate Carriage House in Fairmont, WV, is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Carriage House and voluminous gardens create a remarkable space to hold weddings, events, and festivals. The building has Tudor Revival Style architecture and can host 120-150 guests for an inside wedding or up to 300 guests under the high-peak tent in the garden for an outside wedding.

Marie wore purple, open-toe heels that perfectly matched her bridesmaids’ dresses and the day’s look. The girls wore shades of purple gowns that harmonized with the groomsmen in their gray suits. Ty coordinated with his groomsmen but wore a purple custom-made Nike shoe. Since Marie’s bouquet was colorful, using it to display her jewelry made it pop.

Marie and Ty met up for an enduring first look between them and shared heartfelt words. After sharing time together, it was time for the outside ceremony under the wisteria archway. The ceremony space was decorated gorgeously with purple and white flower petals down the aisle. When Marie was a child, their pastor was the officiant who married them.

The reception at the Highgate Carriage House Fairmont, WV was under a tent on the lovely property. Marie and her mom creatively made the reception decor. There were purple tablecloths, tall floral centerpieces, and even purple touches in the desserts. Marie’s dad, Jeff, gave a touching speech at the reception, making me teary-eyed. He was a lifesaver during Marie and Ty’s engagement session, as he brought snacks and beverages. I was 30 weeks pregnant then, and his thoughtfulness was a lifesaver for me! Their wedding day was a great day spent with Marie and Ty’s families, who made me feel like a family member.
