WVU graduate school photoshoot on campus in Morgantown, WV

The best way to celebrate receiving your master’s degree is with a WVU graduate school photoshoot with your BFFs! I’m always excited for the opportunity to take graduation portraits on campus, no matter what type of diploma you have! There was a good mix of sunny and cloudy weather, allowing us to shoot in several places around the school!

Best Friends Graduation Session

Abby, Rachel, and Jacob got together for a best friend portrait session on the campus of West Virginia University. All three students graduated with their MBA from the John Chambers College of Business and Economics and have been friends since their freshman year of college. Abby and Rachel have known each other since high school and have been roommates their entire time in college. Jacob is actively job-searching and hoping to stay in the Pittsburgh area. Rachel is taking her time after graduation to enjoy summer and believes the right job will come along when the time is right. Abby is staying at WVU and attending PA school in Fall 2024.

Abby was a WVU Gold Team Cheerleader as an undergrad and cheered all of WVU’s football games. I have known Abby and her family for a long time, even though Abby was too young to know me. When I was a college student, I worked for her parents who used to own and operate a restaurant in Wellsburg, WV.

Business School at Reynolds Hall

Since they spent their time taking business classes, all three students wanted portraits at Reynolds Hall at WVU. Reynolds Hall is a new building on WVU’s campus that has since replaced Stansbury Hall. This new 186,000-square-foot building brings experiential classrooms, computer labs, and even a stairwell modeled after one at Google headquarters. The labs and learning centers create opportunities for students so they can find internships and future jobs. We can’t forget the steps of Woodburn Hall on campus, the most popular place for photos at the university!

Abby’s mom requested to recreate a photo that Abby and Rachel had taken when they graduated high school. They both faced away from the camera and held up peace signs. There is a special sculpture on campus of the mascot, The Mountaineer. Since it was partly cloudy, I knew I could get this picture without everyone squinting from the sun.

Another fun spot on campus is a giant mural that’s painted on The Mountainlair. This building, more commonly called “The Lair” by the students, serves as the student union and the center of student life. To capture this shot, I laid on the ground and honestly wasn’t sure how this would turn out. However, I loved this photo from the session, and this spot will be on my list of places on campus for next time!

Thank you to Abby, Rachel, and Jacob for booking me for your WVU graduate school photoshoot! Congratulations on receiving your master’s degree diplomas from the business school! If you’re graduating soon and want to celebrate with a portrait session, let’s check my calendar for a date!
